Details for the System config (Version 1.3)

The items that can be set in the System config are explained in the table below.

Thumbnail functionTurns on / off the function to display thumbnails of folders. If turned off, the pre-installed functions will be used. It can be turned ON / OFF for each file extension.
Preview functionTurns on / off the folder preview function. If turned off, the pre-installed preview function will be used. It can be turned ON / OFF for each file extension.
Legacy providerIn case of the movie which the thumbnail is not specified. If this is ON, the thumbnail will be generated using the legacy provider. If it is OFF, the thumbnail will be generated from default position frame*2. It can be turned ON / OFF for each file extension.
Preferred APISpecify the API to be used preferentially when generate thumbnails. If preferred API will fails, another API will be used.
Default positionIn case of the movie which the thumbnail is not specified and Legacy provider is OFF or failed, ThumbnailCIty will generate a thumbnail from this position of the movie frame. The unit is milliseconds. If the duration of the movie is shorter than the this position, the end of the movie frame will be thumbnailed.
Suppress MF for 10bit color AVCWhen 10-bit color is used in AVC or HEVC, decoding by MediaFoundation is suppressed. This feature is intended to avoid MediaFoundation freezing on older GPUs, but on newer GPUs, disabling the suppression may enable decoding or improve processing performance.
Context menu access keyThis character will be set to the access key for folder context menu item. Default is “T” in “Assign thumbnail (T)”. Only alphanumeric characters can be specified.
Supplement images as key framesIf ON, the supplement images displayed in the preview are limited to key frames. If OFF, it makes slow down the preview display generally.
Use OS thumbnail cacheIf ON, the thumbnail cache of the OS will used when displaying thumbnails in the preview. If OFF, the image will be extracted from the movie even if it is a thumbnail. If the image displayed in the enlarged area becomes smaller on some OS, you may be able to avoid it by turning this item off.
Action for double-clickingSpecifies behavior when you double-click a reduced image in the preview.

*1: The system-config feature is supported from Version 1.3.8.
*2: Even if this item is changed, the thumbnail displayed in the folder will not be changed immediately. Thumbnails can be changed by clearing the OS cache or using ThumbRef to refresh the cache.
